The Minister of Health Zanzibar has said that religious institutions have a great role in assisting the Government in the provision of health services

Minister of Health Zanzibar Nassor Ahmed Mazrui has said that religious institutions have a great role in assisting the Government in providing health services to its citizens.

Minister Mazrui has explained this at the Golden Tulip Hotel when he opened the Leadership Training for the Leaders of KKKT Hospitals which involved leaders of Health Centers, staff and consultants of KKKT health directorates, and leaders of KKKT hospitals.

He said that leadership and management is an important part of the Health sector system and helps to ensure the best use of resources, best decisions and the establishment of proper governance structures.

He has informed that the training will help leaders of the Health sector in KKKT hospitals and colleges to increase the skills and tools necessary to face the challenges they face in providing quality Health services and services in the country of Tanzania.

In addition, he said that Zanzibar has made great progress in the provision of services in recent years, where he explained to the leaders that they have achieved health services structures, increased access to essential medicines and strengthened the health workforce.

He has asked them to further promote cooperation between the health professionals of KKKT hospitals and the Ministry of Health Zanzibar to invest in the health sector with the aim of strengthening services in the country while insisting on looking at specialized groups in the community in the provision of services including the elderly, people with chronic diseases, children with pregnant mothers.

On his part, the Director of Health Services of the Catholic Church of Tanzania KKKT Dr. Paul Zebadia Mmbando has said that the services provided to the communities that are within their institution do not care about any religion and when a person arrives, they are provided with appropriate services and they provide more services in rural areas.

He has informed that their institution has been able to make great strides in development and they are in different regions in Tanzania and they work close to the Government and has a total of 172 health institutions, 120 educational institutions and a total of 24 hospitals and 148 health centers.

Also the Coordinator of research and publications from TAMISEMI Dr. James Ngekia has said that the training that continues to be given to the experts is more focused on getting policy guidelines for the leaders also through areas that match the demands of the World Health Organization WHO.

The KKKT Institute works with the Government as well as national and international Organizations and has now completed 30 years since its establishment.
