One of the strategies of the Government of the Eighth Phase of Zanzibar is to ensure that the people of the islands of Unguja and Pemba get all the best and necessary health services on time and quickly.
In achieving that, the President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Hon. Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi has come up with the concept of OUTSOURCING in the sense of collaborating with sectors or private companies with qualifications and the ability to provide some services including tests, hospital management and medicines in public hospitals from the District, Regional and Appeal levels with the aim to get quality services for all citizens who come to get those services in hospitals and health centers.
This concept of collaborating with these private companies has come to facilitate access to quality services for citizens at all times and to enable reducing some of the responsibilities of the Ministry of Health. In addition, the Government through the Ministry of Health continues with its responsibilities to manage and ensure that every citizen is provided with quality services , good treatment and he does not experience any kind of discomfort when he arrives at the hospital.
The companies that have been given these responsibilities include SAIFEE, which is responsible for managing District Hospitals and drug issues, LANCET, which provides laboratory services, NSK, which provides radiation services, and ZANZI MEDICAL, which is responsible for the health of employees.
All these companies work for new and old hospitals where the goal is to ensure that health services are of high quality in Zanzibar.
