Laboratory experts in the country have been asked to work together in conducting examinations of diseases and other products with the aim of improving the health of the people.
The call was made by the Deputy Minister of Health Zanzibar Hassan Khamis Hafidh when he made a special visit to visit the exhibitions of various laboratory experts held in the new grounds of Mapinduzi Square Kisonge.
He said that laboratory experts have a great responsibility to ensure that they investigate diseases, and conduct various studies with the aim of dealing with outbreaks of diseases when they occur.
He has informed that all laboratories should cooperate in serving the people and be able to deal with various diseases including those found in animals and plants, in order to have quality and standard products in this country.
He has asked the laboratory experts to continue to do their work with great attention due to the fact that the main dependence of providing treatment to the patient is based on the results of the laboratory examination.
For his part, a laboratory expert from the Council of Laboratory Experts, Time Hassan has said that laboratory week is celebrated around the world every year at the end of the April and its main goal is to recognize the work of laboratories and the importance of laboratories worldwide.
He said that the cooperation of laboratories is very important in serving the people where it enables to have systems that help to give the same and correct answers to the patient and to ask the professionals to continue working together and develop themselves more professionally.
And the Awareness Officer from the Zanzibar Safe Blood Program Omar Said Omar has said that in celebrating the week of laboratory experts in the world, they have made sure that they participate in the exhibition by providing education to the people along with asking the people to donate blood to be able to help patients in need.
He informed that one of the responsibilities of the Safe Blood Program in Zanzibar after blood donation is to ensure that the blood is tested by laboratory experts and after that it is given to the patient.
