Laboratory’s Experts have been required to diagnose diseases in accordance with the expertise available around the world in order to be able to provide the right treatment to patients.

Opening the meeting to build the capacity of the laboratory experts Director of Prevention and Health Education Zanzibar Dr. Salim Slim said that the experts have a great responsibility to investigate the disease in depth and to be able to find early treatment for the patient and get rid of the disease.

He said that in order to achieve the expertise of the Laboratory, it is good that the experts are given regular training to be able to overcome the shortcomings in the performance of their daily tasks that require more expertise.

He informed that in strengthening the performance of the Laboratory, the Ministry of Health is making special efforts to systematically connect all the laboratories in the country so that they can deal with diseases including outbreaks.

On the his part the Representative from Jhpiego, Joackim Nyarigo, he said that their organisation works closely with the Ministry of Health in achieving various tasks, including laboratory issues.

He said that in the implementation of the laboratory services project, they first visited all the laboratories in Unguja and Pemba health centers as well as the veterinary laboratories where they looked at the existing challenges and were able to work on them with the aim of strengthening the laboratories.
