EXECUTIVES of the Ministry of Health Zanzibar have made a special visit to the Regional and District Hospital immediately after being officially handed over from the contractors and starting the installation of equipment.
Zanzibar Health Minister Nassor Ahmed Mazrui has said that the installation of equipment at the Lumumba Regional Hospital is expected to begin today, while in the Magogoni and Chumbuni district hospitals, the installation of equipment has already begun and they expect to finish soon and start work soon.
He has informed that on the part of Lumumba Hospital it is expected to start its work on a trial basis in September this year and be officially opened in the tenth month and start providing services to the people.
He said that during the visit they were able to identify small technical defects and asked the contractors to solve the defects and be able to complete them before the opening of the Hospitals.
On his part, the Deputy Minister of Health Zanzibar Hassan Khamis Hafidh has said that the construction steps of the Lumumba Regional Hospital and the District have been completed and they are in the process of opening the hospitals in order to serve the people.
He has said that the Government through the Ministry of Health has organized itself in the whole issue of providing services at those hospitals where experts and medical equipment will be placed to provide high quality services.
During the visit, officials from the Ministry of Health have been able to visit Lumumba Regional Hospital, Magogoni District Hospital and Chumbuni Hospital
