The Ministry of Health Zanzibar will continue to strengthen primary health services

The Zanzibar Ministry of Health has said that it intends to strengthen basic health services by putting in place adequate infrastructure and equipment so that citizens can get services nearby and be able to reduce congestion at the Mnazimmoja Referral Hospital.

This was stated by the Minister of Health Zanzibar Nassor Ahmed Mazrui when he held talks with a delegation from the CRDB Bank and the leaders of the Ministry of Health with the aim of strengthening health services in the country.

He said that in order to be able to provide good services to the people, you must have the best infrastructure, medical equipment, capable staff and enough drugs in hospitals and health centers.

He explained the message of the CRDB Bank that they are currently facing a big challenge of people rushing to the main hospital and stopping to get treatment in nearby health centers, and that is due to the lack of essential services in those centers including tests and medicines.

On the part of the Relations Manager of the Government Division of CRDB Bank, he said that the aim of meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Health is to strengthen health services, including building a health center with medical equipment.

He said that normally the Bank gets the benefit of the dividends it returns to the community according to the needs where in this phase it has come to strengthen the health services by strengthening the infrastructure, medical equipment and medicine.

On her side, the Deputy Director of Prevention and Health Education in Zanzibar, Dr. Fatma Kabole, told the delegation that at the moment, the biggest need is to strengthen the health centers that provide maternity care, which reach 36 in Unguja and Pemba, and the big goals are to set up the best methods and adequate equipment. so that the people don’t get inconvenienced.
