The Ministry Zanzibar of Health has signed a collaboration agreement with the Benjamini Mkapa Foundation to strengthen the health sector in the country.

Director General of the Zanzibar Ministry of Health, Dr. Amour Suleiman Mohamed said that the contract will strengthen cooperation in the delivery of health services in different fields, including human resources.

He said the Benjamini Mkapa Foundation has been cooperating with the Government in implementing the priorities in the health sector that are included in the contract to ensure that the Ministry of Health is doing well in achieving the goals of providing health services.

He has informed that the agreement will ensure the issue of human resources to provide services to health centers, training for its employees, health insurance fund for all, medical equipment, as well as strengthening maternal and child health services in order to reduce maternal deaths. is reached.

He has said that in strengthening health services, the Ministry will work together with the Benjaminin Mkapa Foundation to ensure that it gets enough money as well as having strong infrastructure to be able to provide better health services and implement all that they agreed upon.

For her part, the Chief Executive Officer of the Benjamini Mkapa Foundation, Dr. Ellen Mkondya Senkoro, has said that the agreement will strengthen the provision of health services more widely in Zanzibar, which is for three years.

She has informed that the contract will help in all matters of human resources, changes in the health sector, providing advice and strengthening health sector systems together with Digital Health and innovative ways to strengthen services.

She said Benjamini Mkapa Foundation will ensure that it collaborates with the Zanzibar Ministry of Health to carry out the various tasks agreed in the agreement so that the services provided are of high quality to the people of Zanzibar.
