He said that the program will enable community health workers (CHWs) to provide essential health services by providing them with digital equipment that will strengthen their activities including the collection of data and that will help show the reality of the diseases that exist in the community as well as the various outbreaks that occur in the country.

He has informed that the profession that will be given to those employees is part of achieving the Government’s goals to ensure that data and information systems become digital with the aim of making the right decisions in achieving health services for all and better health.

He added that the Government through the Ministry of Health in collaboration with citizens, development partners and the private sector will ensure that they maintain the plan to achieve national health priorities.

In addition to that, he thanked the D-tree International for their cooperation in community health programs and digital health investments that have helped increase the efficiency of community health workers and achieve the intended goals.

The Deputy Principal Secretary from Ministry of Infrastructure and Communications Zanzibar Dr Mzee Suleiman Mndewa has said that the communication infrastructure has improved so the coming of this program will be in line with the current speed of communication and help them achieve the goals of the actors.

The Director of Prevention and Health Education Dr. Salim Slim encouraged the CHW’s to make good use of the training and asked them to work properly with the aim of reducing the problems that exist in society including diabetes, hypertension and non-communicable diseases.
