The Nursing and Midwifery Council has conducted a visit at the Empirical Health College located at Kisauni Zanzibar

The Chairperson of the Council of Nurses and Midwives Zanzibar Amina Abdulkadir has said that the presence of colleges that meet the criteria for teaching the profession of nursing and midwifery in this country will help to provide quality professionals to serve the people.

She has said that the field of nursing and midwifery requires a profession of a high standard which will enable the student to have great ability in his/her studies so that s/he can later provide quality services to patients.

This has been known following a special visit made by the Council of Nurses and Midwives to the Empirical health science college located at Kisauni to see in reality what they offer in the profession.

She has informed that Zanzibar currently has many colleges offering Nursing and Midwifery where the council is required to conduct regular inspections to see how they are providing the profession according to the Government’s wishes to provide a quality profession.

On his part, the Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council Vuai Kombo Haji has said that among the nursing and midwifery tasks that the Council has is to look at the training provided by colleges that teach Nursing and Midwifery, the number of teachers who teach the training, as well as looking at the teaching curriculum as well as seeing certification on that training.

He informed that on the part of the Empirical Health College, the Council is satisfied with the profession offered by the college and urges them to continue to make the profession more successful in order to produce high quality students.

And a member of the Council of Nursing and Midwifery from the Office of the Attorney General Salim Mohamed Abdalla has said that each field has its own importance to the society, so he has asked the students of the Empirical College of Science to pay attention to the field they have chosen with the aim of providing quality services.

He said that the values ​​of Nursing and Midwifery are based on having faith in serving the people, so it is good to have good values ​​of serving the people as well as keeping the secrets of the patients and ensuring that they provide help to the patient regardless of the great interest of the job.

On her part, the Head of Empirical College of Health Professions Jokha Khamis Juma has said that they are relieved to be visited by a delegation from the Nursing and Midwifery Council which helps in strengthening the performance of the college.

She has informed that on the part of their college they are making every effort to provide quality careers so that students have the level to provide health services in the future.
